Crossing Paths : F.A. Peeke

Crossing Paths : f.a.peekeCrossing Paths

Crossing Paths is f.a.peeke’s debut book of poetry. It contains pieces that cover a montage of emotions and heartfelt life events that are not exclusive to any age, sex or religion.

Discrimination, heartache, grief, joy and love are some of the universal feelings laid bare in this very honest book and the poet believes her readers will associate with many of the paths she has chosen to walk down.

She aims to take you along with her on a trek across ever-changing landscapes, which see her experiencing new situations, along with new pains and pleasures.

Her way of responding to this call of life was to ‘write it down’, as her father had once told her to.

The poems in this collection are interspersed with late-night diary entries, musings, and free-flowing thoughts, together with a scattering of photographs taken by the poet herself.

The Power of a Simple Boy : John Bottern

The Power of a Simple Boy : John Bottern

The Power of a Simple Boy

A heavily armed group of highly trained and experienced ivory poachers, led by Shetani, enter an African game park to kill a large herd of elephants – including Akili, their matriarch.

When Tuli, an experienced game ranger, is brutally murdered by Shetani, Tuli’s sixteen-year-old son, Onkolo, soon realises that he must now defend the herd and face the poachers on his own.

Desperate to survive and armed only with a bow and arrows, Onkolo races to find Akili and her herd before the poachers do, and along the way establishes the most unexpected alliance. But will this be enough to ensure that he survives, and enable him to defend the elephants?

The odds are overwhelming: battling heat, thirst and fear, Onkolo faces dangers from predators as well as poachers. And he reluctantly finds himself in awe of Shetani, whose bush-skills surpass those of any other man he has come across – the very skills that enabled him to murder Tuli.

The savagery of animals in the wild, and the brutality that emerges from encounters with predators and poachers, are offset by scenes of tranquillity and the beauty of the African bush.

Golden Keys to Open Doors : Harry Meier

Golden Keys To Open Doors : Harry MeierGolden Keys to Open Doors: About Spiritual Cotton Candy

The Japanese have an old saying: “If you see Buddha on the road, kill him.” It’s a reminder we all take our own path to enlightenment—a lesson the modern spirituality marketplace has conveniently forgotten.

Modern spirituality is big business, with gurus, shamans, spiritualists, and others plugging feel-good phrases and recycled, simplistic ideas. The marketplace holds out the promise of a trouble-free life, paradigm-changing insights, and simplified secrets of enlightenment—all for a modest fee, of course.

Harry Meier has traveled through the morass of modern spirituality for forty years—and killed his share of Buddhas along the way. Meier argues the industry sells spiritual junk food that is designed to make you feel good but ultimately lacks any real nourishment.

To truly advance, Meier believes we must abandon the pleasant but unhelpful comfort zone of mass-market spirituality and forge our own paths.

The enlightenment industry sells pretty golden keys to doors that are already standing wide open. It’s time to throw away the keys and start your own journey. And should you meet Buddha on the road, well…

Forest for Friends : Tomi Rantala

Forest for Friends : Tomi RantalaForest for Friends: Call of Nature

Forest For Friends is a very quirky, fun and weird, absurd, lighthearted, somewhat a surreal glimpse of life in the forest.

Yes. It´s mostly about a spruce talking to a rock. A very old and bored Mr. Rock, who is not always too happy about his new neighbour Mr. Spruce.

So there doesn´t seem to happen too much. It can take a whole year for the rock to answer to spruce´s wish for “Happy New Year”. So the rock is slow. Very slow. And very old. And very wise. Well. Maybe not so wise.

Mr. Rock recommends this Comic Book as there is one annoying tree less for every sold copy.

Forest For Friends is a comic book recommended for all ages.
