Achilles : Byrne Fone
The Trojan war–the legendary battle. Achilles–the most fearsome warrior, hero of the Trojan war, and the most beautiful man in the world. Patroclus–handsome and heroic. They loved one another. Antilochus–who comes to the battlefield of Troy to find Achilles, the man he has always loved.
When the tragic death of Patroclus leaves Achilles shattered and alone, it is Antilochus who stands at his side, as friend, companion in battle, and lover.
Achilles: A Love Story, written in the tradition of Mary Renault’s The Persian Boy and Fire from Heaven, is the first modern novel (2010) to re-imagine the “Iliad” as not only a tale of battles and heroism, but as a passionate story of love between men.
Achilles: A Love Story creates the passionate tale of Antilochus and Achilles as it plays out against the legendary battles of the Trojan war in an exciting and moving story told by no other writer.

Tied To A Tree : Julie Mayger
Sam Riley is easy on the eye. She is feisty and free-spirited, rides a Harley-Davidson 833 Sportster motorbike and is an ardent animal lover. She has had many jobs and is currently fostering animals in Yorkshire for an animal rescue centre.
A pug puppy that has been cruelly abandoned enters her life and she decides to keep him. She names him – Pug.
A few years ago, and long before Pug donned a biker helmet, Sam took a job teaching survival training at a summer camp in the Ardennes in France. Summer camps are happy places – certainly not somewhere you’d expect to bump into a terrorist.
One day, Sam decides to go for a walk in the beautiful Ardennes forest, unaware that she is being followed. She is equally unaware that she is about to be murdered.
But things don’t go well for the terrorist, and Sam is not the one who dies.
Deep in the forest, you are alone with a body.
What would you do?
Sam makes a decision. It is her secret and she dare not take the risk of telling anyone what happened on the day she went for a walk in the woods. It is a heavy burden to bear over the years, so to ease her mind Sam makes an annual trip to the Ardennes to check on the body.
Eleven years later, she has made another decision. Now that Pug has arrived in her life, the next trip to the Ardennes will be her last.
Someone else has a secret too.
They know what she has done.

Jay Berry’s Sports Odyssey and Beyond : Jerome (Jay) Berry
From Turf to Television and The Black 14 Protest
Jay Berry, award-winning television sports anchor and reporter in three major markets, began life in 1950 as the child of an unwed, teenage mother in segregated America.
His story is one of survival, perseverance, and achievement despite humble beginnings and the challenges he encountered, including being kicked off an undefeated University of Wyoming football team along with 13 Black teammates in October of 1969. This has become known as The Black 14 incident and 50 years later, it remains an ongoing battle for Berry personally as he continues to try and eliminate inaccurate accounts.
This is a story of Berry’s journey through a life filled with barriers, opportunities, and God’s guidance while always carrying the Black 14 label. He learned to wear that distinction proudly and added a few more, becoming one of the first Black broadcasters for television stations in Tulsa, Houston, Chicago, and Detroit.
In the process, his life was filled with incredible personalities from the world of sports and beyond, including Muhammad Ali, Tommy Hearns, Jacques Cousteau, Bum Phillips, Earl Campbell, Walter Payton, Billy Sims, Barry Sanders, Howard Cosell, Chuck Daly, Gordie Howe, Scotty Bowman, Steve Yzerman, the Russian Five, the Fab Five, Isiah Thomas and the Bad Boys, Sparky Anderson, Ernie Harwell, Bo Schembechler, George Perles, U. S. Representative Barbara Jordan, the Gap Band, Wayman Tisdale, and the Queen, Aretha Franklin – Berry’s passenger in the famous Pink Cadillac video, among many others.
Ideal readers include sports fans of all ages, historians, residents of Tulsa, Houston, Chicago, and Detroit who share many of the same memories as Berry.
