Second Chance : Ryan Troutman
Second Chance
February 18, 2007 was the day I died. I was sixteen years old at the time and my best friend had just gotten his first car. It was a used, worn, black Camaro. The possibilities were endless. We tossed around a few ideas but nothing seemed good enough. All we wanted was one night free from parents, rules, and responsibilities. Just one night to really feel alive.
What I intended on being a fun, energetic night quickly escalated into the most horrifying moment of my life when I was ejected from the vehicle on our drive home. My skull collided into the pavement and my lungs stopped taking in air. My comatose body was nearing its final seconds.
A journey through hospitals and rehabilitation clinics is the reason I’m still alive. During my days as a patient, I had to relearn how to walk, talk, sleep, and think. It felt like I was caged inside of a broken body that just didn’t have the strength to recover or a will to live. My family had to learn how to cope with my disabilities. Many of my friends moved on and left me in their past. My whole world came crashing down and all they could do was watch. Everyone had to adjust. But more importantly, I had to accept living my life with a traumatic brain injury.
It all happened so fast.
Second Chance is a true story of how I escaped a closing casket and victoriously fought my way back to the person I am today.

Games Ego Plays : Kevin FitzMaurice
Games Ego Plays
This book is about the psychological or ego games that people play with each other, both in private and in their social relationships. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to get out of ego games, without conflict, when others intend to play them at your expense? Wouldn’t it be great to be able to recognize an ego game from the start, so that you might either redirect the interaction in a health way or avoid being locked into a stressful and unproductive ego game? Wouldn’t it be great to learn ways of relating that don’t involve ego games, even though we are all conditioned and trained to play psychological games?
Once you understand the structure and style of ego games, you will find them clear and simple enough to see in everyday life. You will discover the basic roles, moves, and motives in psychological games. You will become aware of how to play ego games so everyone wins, how to get out of ego games, and how to avoid playing ego games. Don’t you want to become more aware of when you are in an ego game? Don’t you want to see the motives of others who engage you in ego games? Don’t you want to learn how to avoid entering or starting an ego game? Instead of wondering what just happened in an uncomfortable interaction, you can learn to analyze the ego game and better prepare for it the next time it rears its ugly head.
This book will stimulate, enlighten, and challenge you to live ego-game free. Discover how to identify ego games before they suck you in, why people play ego games, who plays ego games, and when they play them. It’s not just the people you love, hate, or know who play these ego games—you’ll find that you do, too. And you’ll learn how to free yourself of your favorite ego games in order to be more effective and authentic in your relationships and career.
While exposing the foolish ego games of another person brings pride, there is also shame in exposing your own ego games. Part of the aim of this book is to get you beyond the pride and shame that result from playing ego games. This book also presents another style—defined as “Cooperation”—as a way to relate without ego games. This book includes some materials from a counselor-training workshop previously presented by this author.

Louis: The Life of a Real Spy : Derek Haines
Louis – The story of a very real spy.
“The writing is superbly descriptive and Louis’ life was tragically wonderful.”
“Suffice to say, if you don’t feel you have read a great tale told well when you reach the last page, then quite frankly you seriously need help.”
“Loved the complexities of the turns in Louis’ life.”
Louis is a gripping story of the life of a professional wartime spy.
From his boyhood education in Egypt in the early 1900’s, he was being prepared to serve in the newly formed British Secret Service Bureau on the orders of Abbas II Hilmi, the Khedive of Egypt and Sudan, as part of secret arrangement with the British government to supply young operatives for the newly formed bureau.
In his early teens, he is separated from his foster mother to make the dangerous journey to England, in the middle of the First World War, to complete his education and training as a British wartime spy. From Dulwich College through to Oxford University, he is meticulously prepared for his life as a British undercover war operative.
From his first dangerous mission in Port Said through to his last in South Africa in the 1960’s, Louis is the story of a professional chameleon, who survived wars and conflicts on his instincts, cunning and ruthlessness. Louis was a quiet heroic man who lived an extraordinary life – a life of service that should never be forgotten.

A Princess Wish : Maria Jordan MacKeigan
A Princess Wish
A Princess Wish is a story about a girl who longs for a sister by her side. She dreams of a forever friend to play with and enjoy everyday moments with.
An endearing story about wishes coming true in unexpected ways.
When the little princess finally comes along she has something a little extra. The big sister excitedly runs to meet the new baby and examines her all around, announcing that she is indeed perfect.
The moral of the story is that sometimes we dream with expectations, but the outcomes though they may not be what we imagined, can lead to a new journey filled with excitement and happiness.
This book was inspired by my precious daughters. It is a true story in every way except for the fairytale part.
I am a mother of two lovely little ladies. Our youngest one living the beauty of Down syndrome. This diagnosis is just a little something extra. Sure it makes her different.
I wrote this book for every child, boy or girl, in hopes that every parent will openly and lovingly teach their children to love all those around us, whether the same or different. We all have something in common. We all have a heart, we all have feelings, we all want to be included, loved and respected.
