Paris Mends Broken Hearts : Kaya Quinsey

Paris Mends Broken Hearts : Kaya QuinseyParis – the City of Light… the City of Love. What could be more romantic?

A love story about falling in love with yourself.

Three women find themselves unexpectedly in Paris where they eat croissants, drink wine, and fall madly in love with… themselves?

It is 1981 and Delphine has never left her small town in Quebec, Canada. She calls a cozy cabin her home and knows that her sister is the best possible roommate. When she falls for an international performer, Nicholas, her predictable life is turned around.

Over the course of one summer, she falls head over heels in love for the first time. When Nicholas suddenly proposes, Delphine doesn’t think that life could get more perfect. He even asks her to be his assistant with him while he performs all around the world. Her dreams of stardom are finally coming true!

After seeing Nicholas perform at a casino in Montreal, Delphine is blown away by the acrobatics and knife juggling he manages so easily. Of course, there is his beautiful assistant to contend with… but Delphine doesn’t believe that she is of concern.

Nicholas surprises her with a honeymoon in Paris, where they stay at the Hotel de la Belle Paix. What could go wrong? For the first time in her life, Delphine ventures outside of her comfort zone. Amazed and intoxicated by Parisian life, Delphine is smitten. That is, of course, until their honeymoon takes a turn she would never have imagined…

Margot is Delphine’s carefree older sister. She has love affairs, but no interest in love. A hard worker, Margot keeps the perfumery in their small Quebecois town alive. She plans on keeping it that way. On the night of her sister’s engagement party, Margot surprises even herself when she meets a man who just might be worth sticking with. As she falls for him, she quickly learns of his secret and must decide whether to continue seeing him. In the midst of making a decision, Margot finds herself caught up in a wayward journey to Paris where she rescues her sister from a honeymoon gone wrong. Jetlagged and still in shock, Margot and Delphine re-unite in the City of Lights. As Margot makes herself at home in Paris, she grapples with love, independence, and fidelity all within the stunning confines of bistros, patisseries, and of course the Hotel de la Belle Paix.

Flashback to 1949, Gwendoline finds herself fleeing Paris in a desperate search for change. She is trying to escape the memories that haunt her in her French countryside chateau. Following the aftermath of WWII, she had become a widower and is desperately missing her husband, Jean. Although her loyal and quirky staff do their best to keep her afloat, Gwendoline eventually takes charge and in a quick turn of events, finds herself at the Hotel de la Belle Paix. It is the hotel run by her brother and sister-in-law in the Latin Quarter in Paris. Over the summer, Gwendoline finds work at an animal sanctuary run by an eccentric aristocrat. With new friends, an elderly cat, and a glass of wine in hand, Gwendoline proves to herself and everyone else that there is life after lost love.

As this compelling trio takes over Paris, prepare to be surprised and whisked away to perfumeries, animal sanctuaries, and knife juggling acts. A modern day romance set in times gone by; Delphine, Margot, and Gwendoline learn that the key to life is love – and what better way to find love than in yourself.

Entertaining? Of course! Joyful? Undoubtedly. Champagne? Bien sur! In their worlds, nothing is predictable, and everything is extraordinary.

She’s smart, a big-hearted dreamer and hopeful writer, but dreams and passion can’t possibly prepare her for what she encounters when she enters Miss Henshaw’s class on the first day of school.

Miss Henshaw, her favorite teacher, has been replaced by a new teacher, the evil Miss Grundy, who takes an immediate disliking to Annie. She spends the rest of the semester destroying Annie’s image, her friendships, and her inspiration.

Soon after Annie’s friends don’t trust her, her family is upset with her, and she doesn’t have the inspiration to write anymore. Just when Annie has lost all and doesn’t know what to do, she encounters an extraordinary mystical creature called a muse, who has a secret of her own.

Angels : Tara Vanhonacker

Angels : Tara VanhonackerAngels: the women of room 12

Parental Guidance Required !

This small book narrates one day in the Immigration Detention Center of Bangkok, where I spent the last months of 2015 and the first month of 2016.

The conditions inside this place are inhumane for men and women… The conditions inside room 12 where I spend 7 months and met many friends are beyond inhumane… The book is a long talk by me to Mama China, a woman tourist from China who had been arrested as an illegal alien in Thailand, after all her money and paperwork and passport had been stolen from her…

Once you are inside this place, you yourself have to pay for a way out… After 8 years inside this place and two months after the day in this story, Thai authorities gave Mama China a lethal injection. She died, forgotten by the world, but not by me and the women of Room 12.

The book describes the extreme gender discrimination, organized rape and sexual harassment taking place inside the Immigration Detention Center of Bangkok.

The profits from this book go to a fund to free the women of room 12 as at this moment, nobody cares.

I love Thailand, and I love Thai people, but this place is a disgrace to the human race.

The McTavish Regressions: Arabesque : McTavish & Buret

The McTavish Regressions: Arabesque : McTavish & BuretPast life regressionist Dr. Wallace McTavish leads a simple life but appearances can be deceiving. In addition to being a brilliant, successful psychologist, McTavish is also a self-healed man, and his funky Brooklyn, NY home doubles as an office, where he investigates past-life crimes and passions.

Twenty-four year-old Laura Tsvetkovsky has long experienced such passion. Her refusal to live in the present with the outside world, her sycophantic mother, and struggling family leaves Laura to her pathological dreams of becoming a dancer. Dreams that will never come true. Were it not for her pills and mysterious friends, Laura’s life without the use of her legs might be hell, but Dr. McTavish reveals there’s another way to heal past and present with hypnotic regression.

Creating suspense regarding the origin of Laura’s pain, we journey to 1592 Catalan. Laura’s past life joy with Marko is contagious, until the Spanish Inquisition sets terror loose in her Romani community and propels this soul from past to present in a heroic tale toward its hopeful, compelling conclusion.

The Black Accountant : Charleston E. Girley

The Black Accountant : Charleston E. GirleyThe Black Accountant

While we constantly chase after perfection, nobody’s life is essentially perfect. In fact, your life is quite the opposite. It’s filled with the highs of the world as well as the lows.

We are consciously taught to be happy and aspire after positivity. While that’s essential in living a peaceful life, ultimately it is the trials and hard times that truly define who we are as individuals.

This book is a testament of how I used the adversity that I encountered in my life to ultimately find my purpose and higher calling in an effort to live my best life.

I pray that you take away valuable lessons and insight from this book so that you can propel your life into the right direction. As always live life and be Blessed!

Lethal Copycats : Zeena Nackerdien

Lethal Copycats : Zeena NackerdienLethal Copycats

The Columbine high school massacre was the most lethal school shooting in modern US history when it took place on April 20, 1999. Regrettably, the frequency and lethality of mass shootings appear to have increased post-Columbine. One of the reasons may be that some youths were inspired by these events.

Here, I use a fictional scenario to explore possible motives spurring the macabre actions of two female mass shooters.
