One minute seventeen year old Sam’s life is normal and the next everything changes. When IT first happens Sam and her friends aren’t worried but then the world around them starts to change. People start turning into Roamers and suddenly the world becomes a kill or be killed place.

As Sam and her friend, Isaac, struggle to survive they realize that something is happening to them. They are changing and developing abilities that allow them to do things they never thought possible. As people start coming back together a new threat emerges. The NoVel Regime starts calling for the death of every person left, who has been changed. Sam and Isaac must use their new abilities to find a community they can be safe in and to fight the NoVel Regime.
